Initiatives by the Church Leaders in Ireland

  1. In their recent joint statement, the Church leaders of Ireland have called for the weekend of 12-13 October to be dedicated to prayer for the protection of the unborn in our society and for women facing difficult and challenging pregnancies and their families. This is in response to the proposed introduction by Westminster of legislation on 21st October allowing for unregulated abortion in theIn addition to other prayer initiatives, you may wish to say and distribute the ‘Choose Life Prayer’ of the Irish Bishops’ Conference.   2. Please support the online petition by Baroness Nuala O’Loan calling on the Secretary of State and Members of the Northern Ireland Assembly to take action to prevent unregulated abortion being introduced to the North by Westminster on 21st October.   3. Please contact your local MLA and ask them to take action to stop the introduction of unregulated abortion to Northern Ireland by Westminster on 21st October. Extraordinary Mission Month 2019 - Baptised and Sent

A Conference will be held on Saturday 19 October 2019 in St Mary’s University College, Falls Rd, Belfast. (9.30-4.30)

As well as celebrating the richness of the Irish missionary tradition the Conference will also begin a conversation seeking to harvest the missionary energy of the past and promote a renewed sense of mission at home.

Legion of Mary Catholic Young Adult’s Conference

The Legion of Mary will be hosting a Catholic Young Adult’s Conference at QUB Catholic Chaplaincy on Saturday, October 19th from 9 am to 5.00 pm. Brilliant talks and workshops on the theme “Call To Sainthood In Today’s World.”

Speakers include Fr Martin Graham, Fr Dominic McGrattan, Father Paddy McCafferty, Nashville Dominicans, Patrick & Therese McCrystal, Mary Lewis and Sarah Haire.

Living Youth/Habitat for Humanity Malawi Team

Living Youth are inviting all young people (18+) to sign up to be part of the Living Youth Habitat for Humanity partnership team and travel to Malawi in August 2020. Habitat strives to raise awareness about the need for decent housing and water sanitation in some of the poorest countries in the world. This opportunity will enable you to raise vital funds to help build homes in Lilongwe, Malawi for some of the families in need. "The trip was one of the best experiences of my life.
