PENITENTIAL SERVICES IN PREPARATION FOR CHRISTMAS

Newtownards: Monday 16th December at 7.30pm

Bangor: Tuesday 17th December at 7pm

Wednesday 18th December: Ballygalget 6.30pm & Portaferry 7.30pm.

Every parishioner is encouraged to try a come to these special penitential services, when we will have extra priests available. If you have an elderly neighbour needing transport, please offer them a lift. You are free to leave whenever you wish, but are very welcome to stay until the end to pray for each other.

Saturday 21st December: There is a short window only for Confessions from 10am – 10.30am in St Cooey’s Oratory. There will be no confessions at 12noon.

There are no confessions on Christmas Eve.

Gesu Bambino

At the Masses for the Fourth Sunday of Advent, 21st /22nd December, we invite each family in the parish to bring the Baby Jesus figurine from their family crib to be blessed during Mass and that blessing will reach your homes and families. You are then invited to wrap the Baby Jesus figurine in Christmas wrapping paper and this will be the First present to be opened on Christmas Day. This will be a reminder of the great gift we have received at the Birth of Christ.

Carols in the Barn

The Parish of Ardkeen Annual 'Carols in the Barn' featuring the Holy Family, Shepherds, Wise Men and animals will take place in the barn/stable situated in the yard of Rubane Farm, Gransha Road, Kircubbin, on Friday 27th December at 7.30pm. Come along and experience that wonderful night when Christ was born over 2000 years ago. Seasonal Refreshments will be served following the Carols. Come well wrapped up, it's a working barn!

The Living Church Office will host the second of three Development Days for leaders of Children’s Liturgy of the Word on, Saturday 25th of January, here in our offices at, 120, Cliftonville Road, Belfast BT14 6LA. The day will commence at 9.30am and finish at 3.30pm. Development Days are designed to nourish, support, and resource, all those involved in leading Children’s Liturgy of the Word in their parish. Due to the popularity of these days, early registration is advised. As usual, there will be time for prayer, input, discussion and activities.
