These meetings are open to all parishioners. There is no commitment necessary above attending the two meetings. The first meeting is on Thursday 28th March at 7.30pm in St Patrick’s Church Ballyphilip. The second will be a week later on Thursday 4th April at 7.30 pm.

CATHOLICISM: THE PIVOTAL PLAYERS

On Monday evenings this Lent we are taking time to look at the some of the PivotalPlayers in CATHOLICISM. We invite you to come and find out more about thesefascinating people; saints, artists, mystics and scholars whose friendship with Christ transformed not only their lives, but also the world.

Our evening begins at 8pm showing a film made by Bishop Robert Barron and takes place in St Patrick’s Community Centre. Join us on our next evening on Monday 25th March when we look at the life of Blessed John Henry Newman.

Is there any truth in matters of religion? Should the Church simply retreat in the face of the challenges of culture? John Henry Newman came into the Church as a convert and used his prodigious intellectual gifts to help the Church better understand its identity and mission and engage the challenges of a secular age.
